Firesong - By William Nicholson

Kestrel and Bowman are twins, who possess the power to communicate with their minds. Unlike Bowman, Kestrel is strong- willed and defiant, whereas Bowman is calm and usually the one who is more sensitive.

The story picks up with the escape of the Hath family from the Mastery, along with other willing Manth families and friends. They seek their homeland. Despite the wintry conditions, they know they are heading the right way, but thye grow weaker and weaker with starvation. Ira Hath is the only one who knows the way, but she is dying. She knows that according to the prophesy, she will die when they reach the homeland.

Bowman must sacrafice himself for his family and people and awaits his calling to join the Singer people, who must stop and destroy the Morah. it is prophesied that he will die as the Chosen one.

Will Bowman recieve his calling in time, or will the Morah rise again and cause chaos and destruction? That is for you to find out.
