Weedflower

Sumiko has been living with her auntie, uncle, grandpa, cousins(Bull and Ichiro) and her beloved brother Tak-Tak since her parents died when she was seven. Her family had always worked on a flower farm in California, Sumiko loved the scent that the flowers gave out especially the weedflowers, her dream was to open a flower shop when she grew up. One day big news breaks out in America that Japan had bombed Hawaii and all Japanese-Americans were forced to move to internment camps.
Sumiko desperetly tries to avoid ultimate boredom. She finds life at camp pretty dull and misses grandpa and uncle who was sent to another camp that was unknown to her, she yearns for the normal, carefree and happy life she used to own back when the war had not broke out.
One day she meets a mohave indian boy named Frank, althought they hate each other at first, Sumiko finds the indians are just as unwanted as the Japanese by the American government. Frank becomes her first initial friend, their friendship continued to develop until one day Sumiko moves out of camp with her auntie and her brother.
This book has taught me that friend ship can still bloom even in the harshest conditions and I recommened this book to everyone
