Have you ever been cursed? What did you do to break the curse and have your normal life back again? David Ballinger and his friends are sneaking behind Mrs. Bayfield's bush waiting for the right time to steal her snake-head cane. There has been a rumor about Mrs. Bayfield who is a witch that smells like a pig so she becomes a good target to the boys. The boys pretended to visit Mrs. Bayfield and when the right time comes, they took her cane, pulled the rocking chair, poured lemonade over her face, and broke her window. Unluckily, David was the last person when running off so he saw Mrs. Bayfield's underpants. Mrs. Bayfield got so angry, she yelled out, "Your Doppelganger will regurgitate on your soul!"
David did feel bad for what he did, but it was too late. The curse has struck him. All the things David and his friends did to Mrs. Bayfield begin to happen on him. Everything in David's life was going down the wrong path. His friends didn't want to talk to him anymore, his pants fell down when he was about to ask Tori, who David liked, for her phone number, and when he was throwing ball with his brother, Ricky, the ball broke the window. David was terrified that he began to ask people to help him break the curse.
I really enjoy reading this book, and I recommend the book to all teenagers. I think David isn't a bad kid, because he feels guity for what he did to Mrs. Bayfield and he even went to apologize to her. The author is teaching the readers that if you do something wrong, you will have to make some sacrifices. It is important that people learn their mistakes and willing to apologize for what they have done.
