Have you ever wanted to love someone, treasure someone, and wait for someone?
When John jumped off the railing at the beach to catch Savannah's bag, he knew he is in love with this woman. Only two weeks, only a couple conversations, they knew completely about each other.
John enlisted the army after high school, as the break quickly went by, John has to go back to the army station located in Germany. Their time together wasn't long, but the love between them made Savannah vowing to wait for John.
By phones and letters, John and Savannah felt like they still have each other beside them, until 9/11, the day that changed the world and their love. John must choose between love and country. While John was fighting for the country, a heart was broken at the other side of the world.
"Dear John" as the letter read, their relationship ended, with tears.
I really enjoy reading this book, because it involves lots of conversations, which made this book more realistic. The ending was very unexpected and touching, it made me cry because I felt really bad for John, how he's hurt but doesn't show, and still love and cares about the woman who doesn't love him anymore.
p.s. The movie "Dear John" is coming out soon!
