City Of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau

This book is the first book of the series"the book of Ember". This story talks about a city which is underground to save the humans from extinction. The city was made for the humans to live temporarily. If they lived there for too long, the city electricity will die and so will the people over there. The city escape instructions was already planned for the city citizens. All the people must do was to wait until the city was almost dead then to use the instructions. The instructions are given to the first mayor of the city. Then it was passed on to the second, the third, and so on. However, the instruction was given to the seventh mayor, he died instantly and the instruction was lost.

After 200 years, the city was pretty soon in destruction. The food was running low, the generator which provided electricity is starting to break..etc. A girl called Lina Mayfleet knew the city will die so she trying to help the city. A boy called Goon also want to save the city. Can both of them find the instructions and escape the city?

The book is set in the underground to save some people from getting killed from the wars on the upper ground. This may be our future is wars get too destructive and dangerous.
I think this book is very interesting and from this review, i bet you will want to know more about this city because of the future. The story was written very well it inspire you to read more about it. There is also 3 more books of this series called "People Of Sparks"(i already written a review about it), "The Prophet of Yonwood, and "The Diamond of Darkhold". I recommend this awesome book to science fiction book readers and people interested in the future.
